In December 2011 Bradford Central Library was closed for health and safety reasons. Since then many of its collections have been moved to other libraries. On 9 January a part of the ground floor was re-opened as a refurbished Local Studies and a WYAS Archives Bradford Branch.
The building is no longer has the name Central Library. Its address is still
Prince's Way, Bradford , West Yorkshire. BD1 1NN.
It is linked to the National Media Museum. Entrance to both departments is now on the end of the building, away from the museum.
Access is wheelchair friendly and there is Blue Badge parking outside the entrance. William Street and Sharp Street lead to this, passing public parking areas. There is no direct vehicle access from Prince’s Way.
